Sertan Usanmaz
Sertan Usanmaz was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He moved to California with his parents and brothers (quadruplets) when he was six years old. Sertan went to college at the University of California, Davis and graduated in 2017 with degrees in both Political Science and International Relations and a Minor in Managerial Economics. On his spare time, Sertan loves to go hiking, trekking, backpacking and mountaineering. His hiking journey first started off in the San Francisco Bay Area at sea level, which quickly grew to the mountainous areas in California's Sierra Nevada. Over the past 6 years, Sertan has hiked/climbed several of California's 14ers (fourteen thousand foot peaks) along with the Volcanoes in the Cascade Region like Mount Rainier. Most recently in 2022, Sertan climbed Mont Blanc - Western Europe's tallest peak standing at 15,777 feet. He also climbed Agri Dag (Mount Ararat), which is Turkey's tallest peak standing at 16,854 feet. Sertan's ultimate goal is to conquer the seven summits (the tallest on each continent). For 2024, Sertan has his eyes set on a summit attempt of Mount Kilimajaro, which is Africa's tallest mountain standing at 19,341 feet followed by Mount Aconcagua, which is South America's tallest mountain standing at 22,837 feet.
